progressive video singals and because it has twice the processing power
of previous DCR-MF circuits, it can do its processing and output them
to 1080p (Native 1080p input signals are not processed through
DRC-MVv2.5). Add to this the crisp details, outstanding contrast, eye
popping colors, and dramatically reduced digital artifacts that DRC-MF
circuitry is known for. And the best part of all is that this
technology is user adjustable according to the video source. All of

Theatre Sync™

created BRAVIA Theatre Sync to go beyond basic digital audio and video
transmission. Based on the HDMI-CEC (Consumer Electronics Control),

powering up and routing signals to a simple push of one button. Want to
play your DVD on your Sony A/V system? Easy, just push PLAY on the
BRAVIA HDTV remote and everything is taken of care for you. Even when
the system is off. Want to change from TV sound to digital surround
sound through your Sony BRAVIA Theatre Sync A/V system? Just one push
of the Theater Sound button on the remote and voila, surround sound

This new feature is ideal for watching high speed chase scenes on your
new KDL46XBR5. Motionflow bans blur and intensifies the chase scene by
sharpening the images and colors. Motionflow detects the incoming video
signal and applies the appropriate processing for optimum motion
reproduction. Taking full advantage of film sourced 24fps encoded
content available on DVD and Blu-ray Disc, Motionflow eliminates the
need for 3:2 pulldown and delivers smooth, judder free video,
faithfully preserving the integrity of the original film. When 60fps
content is detected, Motionflow doubles the amount of frames and uses
real-time calculation to create a new level of natural motion
reproduction. You'll experience your favorite chase scene the way the
movie producers intended it.
Live
Color Creation
Sony's KDL46XBR5 not only pushes resolution to the limits but also
brings color reproduction to new heights. Live Color Creation achieves
more precise and wider color reproduction using a combination of
advanced chroma signal processing algorithms along with Sony's WCG-CCFL
(Wide Color Gamut Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp). The results have to
be seen to be believed. Clearer blues, more natural and broader range
of greens — vibrant colors throughout any scene.
High
Contrast Ratio
Sony uses a dynamic backlighting system called ACE (Advanced Contrast
Enhancement) on BRAVIA TVs. ACE automatically senses the APL (Average
Picture Level) of the video signal and adjusts the intensity of the
backlight for improved contrast. VESA test and measurement methods are
applied yielding a contrast ratio of 18,000:1. This number represents
the widest possible ratio between black and white contrast levels. Sony
also measures their BRAVIA televisions with a more stringent method
that measures the amount of black and white levels that can appear on
the screen at the same time. This method yields a more real world
