The
Sharp LC-65D64U Features : |
Black is back — better
than ever
In a world where color trends come and go, Sharp offers up a
contemporary classic — the LC65D64U. This slim-line design
model sets the standard in HDTV style and innovation, with a striking
piano black finish, bottom mount speakers, brilliant color
reproduction, and spectacular picture quality. In addition to providing
high contrast ratios, this AQUOS set includes a next-generation
Advanced Super View true 16:9 widescreen LCD panel that delivers 1080p
full spec HD (1920 x 1080) resolution for the sharpest possible
picture. Plus, its Multi-Pixel Technology significantly improves color
reproduction at virtually every viewing angle. Three HDMI and two HD
component inputs are all compatible with 1080p sources like HD DVD and
Blu-ray players. All of this means that with Sharp's AQUOS, there is
always more to see.
The
picture takes your breath away
With full HD spec 1080p resolution, a dramatically enhanced black
level, and an elegant new design, the LC65D64U produces breathtaking
picture quality second to none. The LC65D64U uses a dynamic contrast
ratio of 10,000:1 with Enhanced Picture Contrast Technology. This AQUOS
delivers a very fast 4 ms response time, wide viewing angles
(176-degree, horizontal and vertical), and the LC65D64U comes with a
table stand that is easily removed for wall mounting applications.
What's
your angle?
Great style and performance don't just happen. It takes a commitment to
quality, an incredibly talented team of professionals, and a vision for
innovation. Take the LC65D64U's Multi-Pixel Technology, for example. By
dividing each pixel into two sections and developing an advanced
driving system, Sharp's new Multi-Pixel Technology delivers more
natural and accurate color reproduction when viewing the screen from
virtually any angle. This technology improves extreme-angle viewing by
about 60%.
You
can connect just about anything — except maybe a lite-brite
With an eye on the technological horizon, Sharp included the most
advanced connections available with the LC65D64U. HDMI is the industry
standard for high-definition programming, bringing all-digital video
and audio signals into your TV in one cable, and doing it without any
form of compression or attendant loss of quality. The LC65D64U has
three 1080p-compatible HDMI connections. And, because not all homes
have warp-sped into the Jetson era, two HD component video inputs (also
1080p-compatible) allow your legacy components to continue their
service without pause or problem (there are also S-Video and composite
inputs for older equipment). There's even a PC input that accepts a
1080p feed directly from a PC. A built-in RS-232C terminal enables
integration with whole-house control systems, making this new model
perfect for the high-end custom installation market.
Sharp's
lean . . .
The Sharp Liquid Crystal Television plant in Kameyama, Japan,
represents the ultimate example of economic efficiency, social
mindedness, and environmental conservation. Combining Sharp's vast
experience and knowledge in R & D and mass production,
including 50 years of TV and 30 years of LCD production, the Sharp
Kameyama plant is a world-class facility for the manufacture and
assembly of LCD panels. Continuing its leadership, Sharp opened a
second plant at Kamayama in October, 2006. This is the world's first
facility to adopt 8th generation glass substrates, which are roughly
twice as large as the substrates used in the number one plant. Plant
number two is specially designed for the production of glass for LCD
panel sizes in the 40" to 50" range and will provide a steady supply of
medium to large panels to respond to the growing worldwide demand for
digital and high definition compatible flat panel televisions.
. . .
and green
The Kameyama plant is a designated Super Green Factory. A cogeneration
system and a photovoltaic power generation system supply the plant with
approximately one-third of its energy needs. Combined with a waste-heat
recovery system that transforms waste heat into air conditioning, Sharp
reduces CO2 emissions by 40% a year. In addition, the plant collects
all the watewater from the production process and recycles it using
water purification technology. Via its Super Green Strategy, by the
year 2010, Sharp plans to completely offset its production of
greenhouse gas emissions by way of energy savings from new
energy-efficient products and energy creation through the proliferation
of Sharp solar cells. And, just to prove it, your LC65D64U totes an EPA
certified ENERGY STAR® label.
