That's not a typo -- the LNT4681F actually boasts a 500,000:1 contrast
ratio. How? Well, Samsung's Wide Color Gamut LED Backlight is
responsible. Instead of a traditional fluorescent backlight, Samsung
decided to go with LED technology. With LED, the light behind the
darkest color levels on the screen can be turned completely off, so
they're not victim to the small amount of "light leak" that occurs with
fluorescent backlights. So the LED backlight technology ensures the
blackest of blacks along with supremely accurate color.

Electronic Control (CEC) For The Ultimate In Convenience
The LNT4681F is HDMI-CEC ready. CEC allows you to link HDMI-connected
equipment in a whole new way. When CEC is enabled, it allows the remote
control for one device to communicate with, and control, another
device. For example, you turn on your television and press the DVD
button. The TV sends an "on" command to the DVD player through the HDMI
cable and then automatically switches the TV to the proper input for
the DVD. Then, you press "play" on that same remote and the DVD begins
to play. Magic? No, just really smart technology. And best of all, it
puts an end to using multiple remote controls, or having to buy an
expensive, universal remote.
