Technology
In bright environments the display quality of conventional plasma TVs
can be compromised by external light. Samsung's FPT5884 boasts a
combination of Ultra FilterBright technology, Super Black Panel and
Optimal Light Filter to bring you sharp contrast, unbelievable detail
and pure clarity in any lighting condition. Samsung's patented Ultra
FilterBright technology features a pair of powerful internal filters
that absorb external light and transmit internal light. This process
increases the bright room contrast by 550 percent. The increased bright
room contrast helps maintain a sharper image in any light.

Whether you're watching the big game, your favorite show or a
nail-biting movie, you'll enjoy home entertainment like you never have
before. That's because the FPT5884 delivers the clearest expression of
natural light possible thanks to a 15,000:1 contrast ratio. That's
nearly twice as high as the average set. A high contrast ratio gives
you more steps from black to white for a picture that has a better
expression of detail.
Anti
Burn-In
Samsung Plasma TVs feature advanced Anti-Burn technologies to help
prevent and even remedy most burn-in and image retention issues. Auto
Pixel Shift keeps the images on screen moving imperceptibly so that
graphics like a score to a game or a stock ticker are not left stagnant
on the screen. Because the images are constantly shifting they're less
likely to damage the screen. If by chance burn-in occurs, Samsung
features White Wash to help get rid of burn-in. When White Wash is
selected the FPT5884 will become as bright as possible and the screen
will be completely white for a certain length of time. When the process
is complete the burn-in should be gone.
